What is an AcrEase Pull Behind Finish Cut Mower?

The AcrEase Pull Behind Finish Cut Mower is a self-contained wing mower designed to be pulled off to the side of a lawn tractor, zero turn mower, or ATV/UTV. It can be configured as a single unit, left and right units, or in tandem.

What can be used to pull it?

Most anything - lawn and garden tractors, small tractors, zero-turn mowers, utility vehicles, and ATVs. Each unit requires about 1 to 1.5 HP to pull. Small 10 HP lawn tractors work well on gradual slopes.

How steep of a slope can it handle?

In tandem configuration, do not use on slopes greater than 15 degrees. When attached directly to the side of the tow vehicle, stable on slopes greater than 15 degrees. B&S Professional/Intek engines: max 20 degrees. Kohler and B&S Commercial Turf engines: rated for up to 25 degrees.

How fast will it mow?

In normal conditions, 6-10 MPH delivers good cut quality. Some customers mow up to 12-15 MPH, though cut quality typically drops above 10 MPH. Blade tip speed is approximately 17,500 feet per minute.

Do AcrEase Pull Behind Finish Cut Mowers scalp?

Minimal scalping. Four anti-scalp wheels in front and two in back, plus a flexing deck design, make it one of the least-scalping 60-inch mowers on the market. The optional Floatation Kit adds extra pneumatic tires for extremely rough areas or road banks.

How much time can it save?

Adding a 60-inch AcrEase wing mower to a tractor with a 48-inch deck expands cutting width to 99 inches. A 3-hour yard can be reduced to 1 hour. Add a second wing mower and cutting width reaches 150 inches.

Is it safe?

AcrEase Pull Behind Finish Cut Mowers have passed the OPEI Lawn Mower Safety Test. A built-in safety zone front and back keeps blades away from the outer metal. The discharge chute is fixed so it cannot be flipped up unsafely.

How available are replacement parts?

Many parts including bearings, belts, and tires are standard and available locally. All non-standard parts are available through Kunz Engineering or local AcrEase dealers.

Does it need a battery?

Yes. AcrEase Pull Behind Finish Cut Mowers have electric start engines and a battery box, but the battery is not included. Information on sourcing a compatible dry cell battery is in the Owner's Manual.

How easy is blade maintenance?

Raise the mower vertically on its front casters to easily access blades for sharpening and inspection. Standard models can be raised by hand with help. The Pro60K model requires an overhead winch to raise the rear of the deck.
